1. Data We Collect

Account data

• Username, email address, PIN (stored as a bcrypt hash — never in plain text).
• For creators: stage name, date of birth, country, bank account details (stored encrypted), government ID (if requested for verification).

Usage data

• Streams watched, coins purchased, gifts sent, tip history.
• IP address, browser type, and device type (for security and fraud prevention).

Payment data

Payments are processed by Yoco Technologies. We do not store full card numbers. We receive a transaction reference and status from Yoco.

Push notification subscriptions

If you opt in to push notifications, we store your browser's push subscription endpoint to deliver notifications. This is stored securely and not shared with third parties.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To operate your account and provide the service.
• To process payments and creator payouts.
• To send push notifications you have opted into.
• To detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
• To comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not run advertising on this platform.

3. Data Sharing

We share data only with:

• Yoco Technologies — for payment processing.
• Cloudflare — for video streaming infrastructure. Cloudflare may process your IP address as part of delivering streams.
• Law enforcement — when legally required or to protect against serious harm.

4. Cookies

We use only functional cookies and localStorage for session management (your login token and preferences). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Data Retention

• Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
• On account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records).
• Chat logs are retained for 90 days for moderation purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Object to processing of your data.
• Data portability.

7. POPIA Compliance (South Africa)

8. GDPR (EU/UK Users)

For users in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing personal data is: (a) performance of a contract (providing the service), (b) legitimate interests (fraud prevention, security), and (c) consent (push notifications, optional features). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children

This Platform is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us immediately at legal@stripstreamers.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or in-app notice.
